The approach to Rumah Richard already gives an idea of how special your stay there will be. You drive through a small, beautiful village literally in the middle of the rice fields. The two cottages look directly onto the fields and Mount Agung and Mount Batur. It will be a very special experience for you to stay in a wooden house - and when you sit on your veranda in the morning and watch the sun rise, you will really feel Bali deep inside you.

Rumah Richard consists of two wooden cottages on either side of the private pool and garden. Each cottage has a beautiful veranda overlooking the rice fields and the mountains, where you can meet and also have your meals.
A separate little house at the end of the garden houses the kitchen. You can enjoy your days by the pool or look forward to going on all kinds of excursions.
Situated alongside the rice fields, it also offers an ideal setting for a leisurely morning walk where you can engage with locals and rice farmers while enjoying picturesque volcano views.
The completely redesigned kitchen is located in a separate cottage and is fully equipped. Polished cement meets warm wood - open and airy with views over the pool and rice fields.
Make friends with the friendly locals and watch the interesting work of cultivating a rice field. Or simply enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of country life.
The spacious and airy wooden cottages have an unforgettably beautiful view - and should you really need to work (which we hope you don't), a small workspace is available.
Our stay at Liongs Rumah Richard villas was absolute magic! Tucked away amongst the rice fields and away from the busy of Ubud, yet only a 15 minute scooter ride to central Ubud it was perfect for us. There is also a restaurant across the rice fields we frequented twice and an art store 3 mins away for those (like my nephew) who enjoy painting. The village managers were also attentive (as is all Balinese hospitality!) with recommendations and organising scooter hire. The villas and pool very clean, nothing to fault. If you want a peaceful slice of paradise in Ubud, do not hesitate to book this place. 5/5 stars!

Depending on the Bali traffic, it’s about a 15-minute-ride to Ubud on a scooter. It might take a bit longer by car, as you can’t pass by any traffic jams you might encounter on the way.
If you don’t feel comfortable riding a scooter by yourself, you can always use Gojek or Grab. If you prefer not to ride a scooter at all, they also offer car services. It’s easy and very convenient - both have apps available on IOS and Android, and our staff will be happy to help if you encounter any issues or need assistance.
We’ll be happy to help you organise an airport pick-up with Dewak, our trusted driver whom we usually recommend to our guests. He is a very friendly and reliable person and will get you safely to Rumah Richard. The rate depends on your arrival time at the airport - it’s between IDR 400.000 and IDR 450.000. Just send us a message if you’d like us to arrange it for you.
Yes, the property is fully enclosed with a fence.
It depends on you. We have very comfortable, generously sized airbeds that can be set up in the bedrooms. Please get in touch with us to check availability and prices. Another option would be to also rent Rumah Elfi, neighbouring it.
No, we’re sorry – we do not serve any meals at Rumah Richard. However, there are some lovely restaurants within walking distance that offer a nice breakfast. You can also easily order online through Grab or Gojek, with plenty of options available. It’s very simple, as both have apps for iOS and Android, and our staff will be happy to help if you run into any issues or need assistance.
The menu of Waybu, a nearby restaurant close to Rumah Richard, is available on the property. It’s a lovely place with excellent food, and you can order easily via WhatsApp with free delivery.
We’d love to make your stay as relaxing as possible, so whenever we can, we’re happy to offer early check-in or late check-out. If Rumah Richard isn’t booked before your arrival or on the day of your departure, you’re very welcome to enjoy a little extra time and make the most of it.
